Makeover Essentials, a long-standing supporter of community outreach programs, recently pledged assistance to Gender Affecting Media and Entertainment (G.A.M.E.) at its annual domestic violence awareness event.
Foothill Ranch, CA, February 15, 2015 (Newswire.com) - The conference, known as RISE ABOVE, is part of G.A.M.E.’s commitment to encouraging critical thinking regarding how forced gender roles affect media and society. The support from Makeover Essentials allowed G.A.M.E. to host an event to educate local citizens as well as provide resources for victims and survivors of domestic abuse.
The donations made by Makeover Essentials were an important part of the overall success of the event. “We donated make-up kits to the guests of the event as well as the G.A.M.E. staff,” explained a Makeover Essential liaison Marisa Cirrincione. “It was a good feeling to see that something so small can make a positive impact on anyone who supports the cause.”

This was the second year in a row that Makeover Essentials contributed to the organization, and Cirrincione said, “We were very grateful to participate in the event. Gaining the opportunity to raise awareness for such an impactful cause is a valuable part of what we do every day.” The awareness generated by the event affected over 170 attendees, including many students at Wayne State University, which was the event host.

According to Cirrincione, Makeover Essentials has plans to assist G.A.M.E. at future events as well. “We are focused on empowering women,” Cirrincione said. “We want any woman to know that despite the struggle and abuse, she can indeed feel beautiful.
